PwC Voted Ideal Employer

PricewaterhouseCoopers keeps top spot among Undergraduate Business students

For the second straight year, Undergraduate Business students have chosen PricewaterhouseCoopers as their No. 1 Ideal Employer in the 2005 Universum Undergraduate Survey. And this is the fourth year in a row that PricewaterhouseCoopers has been ranked number one Ideal Employer in their profession.

Almost 17,000 business students at the top 123 universities in the U.S. participated in the 9th annual Undergraduate Survey – almost doubling the number of respondents from last year. In the portion of the survey where students choose their Ideal Employers, PricewaterhouseCoopers once again landed in the top spot. “PwC’s commitment to college recruiting is paying off,” said Claudia Tattanelli, Universum CEO. “The company consistently sends top quality recruiters that prioritize face-to-face interaction with the students and are dynamic ambassadors for PwC. Students recognize this and see the company as a top-tier employer.”

Advertising campaigns and the website are important recruiting tools so it’s particularly rewarding that the PwC website was selected as the most popular in the overall Undergraduate Survey taken by almost 30,000 students.

But these tools play supporting roles to the people who are building relationships with students. PwC has partners responsible for each of its 200 target schools. Each partner spends up to 150 hours per year, building relationships on campus. “People know that we strive for excellence in all that we do,” said Brent C. Inman, partner in charge of recruiting at PwC. “They also know that we are very focused on investing in our people. Our reputation attracts high quality clients, so students know that they will be exposed to some of the top companies in the world when they work for us.”

The survey results confirm that years of dwindling undergraduate recruitment are over. Students sense that companies are back en force on campuses and are choosier than ever when they select their first employer after college. They recognize that PwC stayed on campus during the recession and continued its relationships with students. “Being the No. 1 Ideal Employer in two straight years confirms that PwC has succeeded in establishing and maintaining solid relationships with top recruits all across the country,” said Claudia Tattanelli. “That accomplishment ensures that PwC will be able to recruit the best of the best for many years to come.”
